"MARMARALU UPMA" ALSO KNOWN AS "PUFFED RICE" UPMA WHICH CAN BE PREPARED VERY FAST,IF U ARE PLANNING FOR A INSTANT BREAK FAST OR SNACK, THEN IT IS A CUISINE THAT CAN MEET U’R NEEDS.




INGREDIENTS:

MARMARALU

TURMERIC
PINCH
GREEN CHILIES

CURRY LEAVES

LEMON JUICE
TO TASTE
FOR TEMPERING

MUSTARD SEEDS
1/4TSP
CHANA DAL
1/2TSP
URAD DAL
1/2TSP
SALT
TO TASTE
CORIANDER LEAVES
FEW

METHOD:
  • TAKE 6-7 CUPS OF WATER IN A THICK BOTTOMED VESSEL,ADD MARMARALU TO IT,RINCE MARMARALU COMPLETELY,KEEP IT ASIDE.
  • HEAT OIL IN  A KADAI,ADD TEMPERING SEEDS FRY IT TILL IT SPLUTTERS AND THE COLOUR TURNS TO GOLDEN BROWN.
  • ADD GREEN CHILIES,CHOPPED ONIONS,CURRY LEAVES AND FRY IT UNTIL ONIONS BECOME GOLDEN BROWN.
  • ADD TURMERIC POWDER AND STIR IT.
  • REMOVE MARMARALU FROM WATER SLOWLY,GENTLY PRESS AND REMOVE THE EXCESS WATER .
  • ADD THESE MARMARALU,SALT AND STRI IT SLOWLY FOR 2-3 MINUTES.
  • SWITCH OFF THE STOVE ADD LEMON JUICE AND GARNISH IT WITH CORIANDER LEAVES.

NOTES:
  • WHILE REMOVING MARMARALU FROM WATER BE CAREFUL BECAUSE BY PRESSING MARMARALU MORE TIGHTLY IT BECOMES SO SOFT,SO PRESS IT SOFTLY.
